Eel River Fishing

Eel River

This Eel River description is courtesy of Eel River steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs.

In the late Fall and Winter another “wild and scenic” salmon and steelhead fishing river comes into play on the California North Coast just South of Eureka, California, the Eel River. The Eel River and its tributaries like the Van Duzen River, Middle Fork, South Fork join together to make what is known as the Main stem offering another top Winter steelhead fishing opportunity with steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs. The Eel River winds through the famed Avenue of the Giants, where you float by majestic old growth redwoods all while hooking and fighting the famed California wild steelhead trout with California steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs. This too, is another rare and likely chance of catching double digit Winter run steelhead on one of our drift boat fishing trips. The Eel is a Northern California top steelhead fishing river and is it’s tributaries enjoyed by both light conventional tackle and fly fishing anglers.

Every late Fall and Winter steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs is available for fully guided steelhead fishing trips on both the South Fork and the main stem Eel River. These guided Eel River steelhead fishing trips are exclusively available from the heated drift boats. When the rains are heavy Eel River steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs may move your steelhead fishing trip to the North on the faster clearing rivers like the Smith and Chetco River’s.

The upper Chetco river runs through the wild and scenic Rogue-Siskiyou National Forest with very limited commercial fishing access and very little fishing pressure. Chetco River salmon and steelhead fishing guide Dave Jacobs holds one of these limited commercial access permits and offers his clients steelhead fishing trips through this very quiet stretch of river. This is a non-motorized, driftboat only section of the Chetco River that you and your guests will experience and enjoy while out with Southern Oregon fishing guide Dave Jacobs. Guide Dave Jacobs is licensed to operate in the Rogue/Siskiyou National Forest on the upper Chetco River in Oregon, licensed to operate in the Six Rivers National Forest on The Smith River, Klamath River, Trinity River and South Fork Trinity River. California and Oregon fishing guide Dave Jacobs is a Equal opportunity provider.
