The 2020 Sacramento River king salmon season is going to officially open on July 16, 2020 as reported by Redding California Fishing Guides Dave Jacobs of Professional Guide Service.  This year anglers are going to be permitted to catch and keep (2) two adult king salmon with a maximum possession limit of (4) four adult king salmon in possession.

Every year thousands of beautiful adult king salmon find their way up all of the tributaries of the Sacramento River for the annual salmon spawn.  The Sacramento River king salmon is one of California’s top sportfish attracting thousands of anglers to Northern California to try their luck at hooking a king salmon.  Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs guides thousands of guests to the very best king salmon fishing on the Sacramento River that runs through the heart of Redding California.

The 2020 Sacramento River salmon fishing season has been decided and will open to a full year of salmon fishing with some exciting new changes!

The Sacramento River will be open to a full extended salmon fishing season starting on July 16, 2020.  Another addition worth noting is that the season will remain open beyond the traditional December 16th closing date to December 31, 2020!  This extended opener will be permitted above the Red Bluff Diversion Dam in Red Bluff, California up to the Deschutes Bridge in Anderson California.

Probably one of the biggest announcements to be made about this years salmon fishing regulations is the daily limit increase over on the Feather River.  Anglers will be allowed (3) three king salmon per day through October 31, 2020.
