Fishing Charter Sacramento River,  king salmon caught with Sacramento River Guide Dave Jacobs in early August 2019.  Salmon season is open and more king salmon are arriving daily to the upper Sacramento River near Chico California.

Sacramento River salmon Fishing.

Currently here in Northern California the king salmon fishing season is fully open to salmon fishing above and below Red Bluff California.  Anglers are finding fresh early August Sacramento River king salmon from The Barge Hole downriver to Colusa California.  Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs reports that new fresh king salmon are arriving daily in the upper Sacramento River.  Salmon fishing is improving and mid August through mid October should be prime salmon fishing as it is every year at that time.  Sacramento River king salmon are averaging from 14 pounds to 20 pounds with a few salmon over 28 pounds coming in so far this season.

Best bets this week have been dragging roe/puffball combos and back trolled small sardine wrapped plugs through any of the king salmon moving waters.
