Reservations continue to come in for this years Sacramento River salmon fishing season as reported by Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs.  Jacobs reports “The salmon season is set here on the Sacramento River and will officially open on July 16, 2018.” This year the Sacramento River salmon fishing season will open 150 below the Red Bluff Diversion Dams Sycamore Grove boat launch.  The second opener will include the Sacramento River from the Red Bluff Diversion Dam upriver to the Deshutes Bridge near Anderson California on August 1, 2018.  This second opener on August 1st will include the upper Sacramento River in Redding California where the top producing trout fishing section will reopen from the 44 bridge in Redding upriver to Keswick Dam.  Sacramento River trout fishing guide Dave Jacobs reports, “This section of river has been closed since April 1st to protect any returning Sacramento River winter run salmon that utilize all of this closed 5.5 miles of closed river from accidental catch by anglers.” “The August 1st opener will once again offer some spectacular trout fishing for trout that have not been fished for 4 months.”  Anglers looking to book their own salmon or trout fishing vacation with Sacramento River fishing guide Dave Jacobs can do so now by calling 1 (530)646-9110.  Best dates are July 16 through December 16, 2018.
