Sacramento River salmon fishing report August 1, 2017.

The salmon fishing in both the Sacramento and Feather River’s have been dead slow since the official opening day of July 16th.  Very few salmon have been seen in the Sacramento River below the Red Bluff Diversion Dam.  The salmon fishing above the Red Bluff Diversion Dam opened today.  The Feather river has been very slow for the last two weeks however, the recent river rise in the Feather River has attracted a few more salmon up towards the Outlet Hole near Oroville California.  A few salmon a day are now being caught between the boat and bank fishermen at the Outlet Hole.  The tremendous salmon fishing out of the Golden Gate Bridge has also continued with limit fishing for all that head out and try for kings.  The red hot salmon bite in the ocean has been happening now for over three weeks.  River salmon fishing could explode anyday.  Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs is offering fully guided salmon fishing trips for all sized groups.  If you are looking for a private guided salmon fishing trip where you and your guest get the guide boat to yourself call Dave Jacobs direct at 1 (530)646-9110.  We do not mix groups.  All sized groups are welcome both small and large corporate trips.  Our salmon fishing charters on both the Sacramento and Feather River’s are available seven days a week through December 16th.  Best Sacramento Fall salmon fishing dates are mid August through mid to late October.  If the king salmon arriver late in the river look for the Fall run bite to be strong through late October.

The Sacramento River upper river opened today from the Red Bluff Diversion Dam up to the Deschutes Bridge near Anderson California.  Pictured today is client John Rinaldi and Jim Mundel with a couple of average August Sacramento River king salmon caught on a past guided salmon fishing trip with Dave Jacobs near Woodson Bridge.
