Sacramento River fishing reports.

These current Sacramento River fishing reports are courtesy of Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service.  Rain has returned to the Sacramento River Valley along with groups of late arriving Fall salmon as well as early arriving Late Fall salmon.  After a very unpredictable Fall salmon fishing season on the Sacramento River,  these early Fall rains are setting the stage for the new Late Fall Sacramento River king salmon.  These kings are the biggest and brightest king salmon of the year on the Sacramento River and late October, all of November and December are the times to target these Sacramento River salmon.

Sacramento River fishing guide Dave Jacobs will be available seven days a week to take you and your guests salmon fishing on the Sacramento River now through December 16th.  The better days to come catch your own Sacramento River salmon will be late October, November and December.  Anglers can even expect a shot at the Sacramento River steelhead this time of year as well.  Weather permitting,  we will be on the water catching Late Fall Sacramento River salmon.  Heavy rains and blown out fishing conditions would keep us off the water in the Sacramento Valley but we do have back up fishing trips for you to choose from.  Some other good choices are the upper Sacramento River wild rainbow trout fishing trips near Redding California, our Trinity River steelhead fishing trips near Weaverville California, The Smith River king salmon trips and the Chetco River salmon fishing trips in Southern Oregon.

Pictured is Captain Tim Klaassen of Eureka’s Reel Steel (left) and Professional Guide Service’s founder Hank Mautz (right) with one of the many king salmon hooked and landed on the Smith River recently with guide Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service.  When foul weather make fishing tough in the Sacramento Valley, the Smith and Chetco Rivers are two very good “go to” options to catch large, hard fighting king salmon.
