Sacramento River fishing report Redding California.

This Sacramento River fishing report Redding California is courtesy of Redding California fishing guide Dave Jacobs. The Sacramento River salmon fishing has shown some signs of improvement this week. There is no doubt that this salmon season has been way below average, yet there are some really nice salmon showing.  More salmon are rolling around and there has been some good hook ups this week river wide.  There has been king salmon caught from Knights Landing up to the famed Barge Hole near Anderson Balls Ferry.  The salmon look mostly like three and four year old kings as many have been large to 30 pounds.  Best bets have been sardine wrapped Brads Killer Fish plugs in the KF-16 sizes and drifting/back bouncing roe/puffball combos throughout the day.  The bite did slow on Friday as the Sacramento River flows dropped affecting the bite.  The king salmon run should carry well into October.

Feather River salmon fishing report.

The very good Feather River salmon fishing has continued and limit style salmon fishing has been happening daily this week.  The best fishing has been in and around the Outlet Hole near Oroville.  The holes and runs below the Outlet Hole have also produced a mix of fresh and dark king salmon.  The best bites have been coming on sardine wrapped plugs and roe/puffball combos.  The good fishing has been happening for both the bank and the boat fishermen in the Outlet Hole everyday this week.  Flows have dropped on the Feather but the great salmon fishing bite has continued.
