Woodson Bridge salmon fishing guides.

Today’s Woodson Bridge salmon fishing guides fishing report is courtesy of Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service.   The peak of the Sacramento River Fall salmon run has not happened yet.  There are very nice fresh king salmon screaming through the Sacramento River recently. Numbers of king salmon being hooked and landed are increasing this week.   It still is not even close to the unbelievable salmon fishing happening on the Feather River. This week salmon fishermen are bringing in up to 8 to 10 salmon a day!  The salmon fishing out of Woodson Bridge has been way below average for this time of year.  The good fishing that many are hoping for just hasn’t materialized yet.  Many are hoping that the salmon run will increase in the coming days.

Feather River salmon fishing reports.

The Feather River salmon fishing reports in and around the Outlet Hole have continued to be great. The last several days catches are coming in of 8 to 10 king salmon hooked a day!  The lights out salmon fishing on the Feather River has been going strong for both the bank and the power boat fishermen.  Anglers have been using a variety of salmon catching techniques.  Techniques like back bouncing roe/puffball combos, dragging roe/puffballs, back bouncing sardine wrapped plugs, jigging and even casting spinners.   The best water is in the Outlet Hole and below the Outlet Hole on both the East and West sides of the Feather River as you move downriver.  The crowds have been increasing but there seem to be plenty of king salmon to go around for anglers in both the mornings and the evenings.  River flows are still up and the Feather is flowing good with great access for many different types of power boats.  The Feather River salmon fishing has been the shinning star in the Sacramento River valley so far this season.

Pictured today is a very large Sacramento River king salmon in the low 30 pound class that was caught with Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs.
