Sac River salmon fishing report 9-28-2015 Dave Jacobs September 29, 2015 Recent Catches, Trophy Fish Sac River salmon fishing report 9-28-2015. Currently there are very big Sacramento River king salmon showing and the quality of salmon is very good for late September as you can see in our recent photos. Many boats have moved upriver below the Coleman Hatchery to fish the famed Barge Hole as that has loaded up with king salmon recently. The salmon bite has been good in the Barge Hole with more salmon spread out from Anderson Balls Ferry downriver through Chico. We have also been catching Sacramento River hatchery steelhead recently mixed in with the huge kings to 35 pounds this week. Pictured is a 28 pound Sacramento River king salmon caught on Monday September 28th by Charles Johnson up from West Sacramento, who fished with Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service below Red Bluff. Most of our biggest Sacramento River salmon were caught on large sardine wrapped lures like the Brads Kf-16 Killerfish lures. These last couple of days of September and October is shaping up for some very good Sacramento River salmon fishing. We are available seven days a week and can take both very large and small groups salmon fishing on the Sacramento River through December 16th.
