Salmon fishing report Sacramento River 8-16-2015.

The current run of Sacramento River king salmon are moving into the upper spawning grounds in small schools.  Most salmon for us this week and weekend are new fresh Sacramento River king salmon 16 to 28 pounds.  The fresh sardine wrapped Brads KF-16 Killerfish lures are working best in the mornings with roe/puffball combos being a better choice when the sun gets up on the river. Boating pressure has been pretty light lately with the lack of salmon so far,  but the run seems to be improving daily right now.  The salmon that are moving through are in very small schools and any heavy boat pressure will turn the bite off significantly.  We are covering a lot of Sacramento River to bring in king salmon for you right now and the peak salmon fishing is still to come, late August, September and October being peak times.  Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs is available seven days a week for all sized groups through December 16th.  Pictured is one of the very nice king salmon caught on the Sacramento River by Gary Fabian while out with Sac River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs recently.
