Salmon fishing guides Sacramento River July 29, 2015.

7-29-2015 Fishing Report.

The Sacramento River is now open below the Red Bluff Diversion Dam and is set to open above the Diversion Dam up through the Barge Hole on Saturday August 1st.  Since the season opened there has been just a slow trickle of king salmon moving up but there are tremendous reports of great salmon being caught just outside the Golden Gate, signaling that good pushes of Sacramento River king salmon will be on their way up to the cold water spawning grounds soon.  Water temps in the upper Sacramento River have been maintained and are good for this seasons salmon fishing as reported by Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs.  Pictured is Blake Mueller with a very nice July Sacramento River king caught this week with guide Mike Rassmussen.  Look for Sacramento River king salmon season to build through August, September and October.
