The Sacramento River fishing report May 1, 2014 is courtesy of Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service. Here is a huge 43 pound Sacramento River striped bass caught trolling deep diving style plugs early this week on a late afternoon/evening trip with Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs. This has been a great time to go after some big stripers during the Spring spawn on the Sacramento River in Northern California. Sacramento River striper fishing has been going well this week with some huge striped bass coming in with Sacramento River salmon fishing guide Dave Jacobs. The cooler weather from last weekend has helped improver striper fishing here however the very warm weather that has arrived here in the Northern California valley has brought river temps up dramatically and the Spring striper spawn is ramping up. Striper fishing has been productive with a wide variety of techniques such as drifting and back bouncing live minnows, trolling deep diving plugs and worming just to name a few. Stripers have really been spread out throughout the river from Colusa, Ca. downriver towards Knights Landing, Ca. The rainbow trout fishing on the Sacramento River near Redding, Ca. has been going great right now with double digit hook ups every morning with Sacramento River trout fishing guide Dave Jacobs. Hooking and releasing 25 to 30 plus wild rainbow trout every outing. These are great trips for just a couple of anglers on very light spin tackle. This is the perfect trip to bring the family on. Great fishing for young kids as well, a great way to get the kids hooked on fishing with lots of trout catching action.
